DENTAL IMPLANTS
Comfort and beauty giving you piece of mind when smiling and eating the food you enjoy most!
Do you have a missing tooth that makes you conscious when you smile?
Do you struggle to eat your favourite foods comfortable and efficiently?
Do your dentures feel loose or do you worry about them falling out?
At Clarity Dental Clinic, we can help you solve all of the above problems. With Dental Implant treatment, you will be able to bite, smile and speak as you did with your own natural, healthy teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone to mimic the root of a natural tooth. Once the jawbone integrates around the implant, a crown, bridge, or denture can be placed on the implant(s) to replace missing teeth in natural and comfortable fashion!
We use Straumann Dental Implants – the world leader in dental implant technology! Strauman implants is widely regarded as the most well researched dental implant system in the world – using CADCAM technology to make functional, lasting, great looking teeth. This will help restore your confidence and give you the smile you’ve always dreamed of.
SINGLE TOOTH REPLACEMENTS
If you have a missing tooth, or a tooth that needs to be removed, a dental implant is the most natural looking way of replacing the tooth without damaging any neighbouring teeth.
Once the implant is placed into the jawbone, it is left for a period of time (usually 3 months) to allow the bone to integrate with the implant. During this period, you will usually be required to have some form of temporary tooth in place, either fixed or removable depending on your personal preference.
Once the integration has taken place, a brand new, custom made crown can be placed in the implant to replace the tooth, making it look natural and restoring your smile!

IMPLANT RETAINED BRIDGES
If you have more than one missing tooth, sometimes we can place multiple implants to replace several teeth. This is more advantageous than a bridge as it does not involve drilling on or damaging any other teeth!
Once the implants are placed into the jawbone, they are left for a period of time (usually 3 months) to allow the bone to integrate with the implant. During this period, you will usually be required to have some form of temporary tooth in place, either fixed or removable and this is entirely dependent on your personal preference.
Once the integration has taken place, a brand new, custom made bridge can be placed in the implants to replace the missing teeth, making it look natural and restoring your smile!
IMPLANT RETAINED REMOVABLE DENTURE
Conventional dentures can often become wobbly, and leave people feeling conscious when eating certain foods. Most denture wearers report not being able to chew their favourite foods effectively, and some even avoid socialising in restaurants, as they are worried about their dentures!
With dental implants, we can place implants into the jawbone, then, once the jawbone has integrated with the implant, we can make dentures that ‘click’ into the implants. This means the denture will not move and rock, and you no longer have to worry about it falling out when you are eating and talking!

IMPLANT RETAINED FIXED TEETH – TEETH IN A DAY!
The teeth in a day treatment is a fantastic, life changing method of restoring beautiful looking, functional teeth. This involves having dental implants placed, and a temporary fixed prosthesis place all in the same day!
This prosthesis is left for three months whilst the implants fully integrate with the jawbone. After three months, the fixed bridge is replaced.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Anybody who has lost teeth or has broken teeth that require removing will likely benefit from dental implant treatment. Using dental implants to replace teeth is a great option as it means we do not need to drill or damage any other existing teeth in the mouth!
Patients who have loose dentures, or dentures that make them feel conscious, will also benefit from implant treatment and having a set of dentures they will feel comfortable with.
Most adults are suitable for dental implant treatment. In some cases, certain medial conditions can affect how the treatment has to be carried out, however our dental implant surgeons will be able to safely guide you with this. In some cases, if a patient has lost a lot of bone or gum, other procedures are required in addition before a dental implant can be placed.
Fractured, broken or missing teeth can seriously affect oral health and overall well-being. A broken tooth can become irritated with inflammation and cause tooth decay. This can lead to gum disease that can also cause illness in the rest of the body. Missing teeth can affect the way teeth bite together which can cause grinding down of other teeth. Over time, the jaw can appear distorted which can affect the shape of your face and overall appearance. If you are concerned about this, one of our implant surgeons can discuss your concerns with you and advise you on the condition of your teeth.
All dental implant treatment is carried out under local anesthetic. This means that you will not feel any pain during the procedure. Following the procedure, there can sometimes be some short-lived discomfort that is usually managed with pain killers. Some implant cases are more complex than others. Our implant surgeons will discuss your case with you and prescribe any medication you may need so that following treatment your discomfort is minimal.
Once you join our family of patients, you can rest assured that you will be well looked after for the long term. All of our implant patients are seen every three months for checks and cleaning if required. We ensure we regularly monitor the implant treatment with x-rays to make sure everything remains in good health.
The healing time of dental implants can be variable depending on a patients medical health. Generally speaking, most cases are completed start to finish within three months.
The cost of dental implants is variable depending on what treatment is required. Every patient has different requirements and every case is treated individually. You can gain a better idea of implant prices by visiting our Treatment Fees and Finance page.
